EMERSON® iPOD DOCKING STATION WITH SMART SET

FUNCTIONS WITH ALL iPODS AND PROVIDES AMAZING STEREO SOUND!

Wake to the sounds of your favorite iPod tunes with the Emerson® iTone iC200BK clock radio.

Offering a built-in iPod docking station and Emerson's patented SmartSet auto time-setting system, the iTone is the perfect bedroom, office, or kitchen stereo.

The iTone's audio performance starts with its built-in powerful amplifier and matching high-fidelity speakers, which combine to produce the type of high-quality, crystal-clear sound you'd normally expect from a largeer audio system.

The built-in iPod docking station, lets you play any dockable iPod model-- including the iPod mini, nano, and shuffle--through the system's speakers.

The docking station also automatically charges your iPod battery so you won't have to worry about running out of power.

Most importantly, you can choose to wake up to any song in your iPod catalog every morning.

The iTone iC200BK is easy to use and the digital tuner automatically scans the AM and FM bands and locks in stations perfectly with no repetitive fine tuning required.

You won't have to struggle to read the time thanks to the 0.6-inch LED clock display, while the integrated station presets (10 AM and 10 FM) make it a breeze to locate your favorite stations at the touch of a button.

The radio frequency also features a dimmer control so you can clearly see your choices and don't worry about bad overnight weather conditions short-circuiting your alarm, as Emerson's SmartSet automatic time-setting system automatically sets the clock to the correct year, month, date, day, and time the first time you plug it in and resets automatically after any power interruption.

It even adjusts for daylight saving's time and leap years all on its own!

Because everyone has a preference when it comes to deciding when and how it's best to start the day, the iTone iC200BK's unique dual alarm system lets you wake up to your iPod, the radio, or an electronic buzzer that starts softly and gradually increases in volume to wake you gently.

It also lets you program one or both alarms for weekdays only, weekends only, or everyday operation.

The clock even includes a programmable 99-minute sleep-to-music timer with auto shutoff and a 99-minute nap timer that wakes you after a nap without having to change your regular alarm settings.

If you need a little extra sleep in the morning, there's also a snooze alarm that you can activate by pressing the snooze button on the top cabinet or the remote control, or you can simply wave your hand in front of the "touchless" snooze sensor on the front panel.

The iTone iC200BK is flexible and versatile, offering both ease of operation and customization options.

Thanks to the compact 13-key remote control, you can operate all the major functions of your system from across the room and if you still want to use some of your favorite devices with the iTone iC200BK, you can take advantage of the included stereo headphone jack and an auxiliary input jack on the back panel, both of which make it a snap to connect older, non-docking iPods, MP3 players, and personal CD players.

The iTone iC200BK measures 13.5 by 8.5 by 6.5 inches and comes with a 3-volt battery.

JAZZ® POCKET CAMCORDER

I was looking for a small, preferably inexpensive camcorder to take on an upcoming trip. I checked around in several different stores with an idea of what I wanted, but unfortunately what I wanted wasn't presently in stock anywhere. While it could certainly be ordered online, by the time it reached me it would likely be too late for my trip.

One of the stores I went to was Wal-Mart. While I was there, I happened to see a cute little camcorder. Immediately I rejected the temptation to impulsively buy it, because with such a low price, I figured it had to be a piece of junk. Additionally, I'd looked at some other ones that had been designed for kids. They looked good, and were also low priced, but after researching them I discovered that most of them had very, very poor quality video, and also usually only recorded for a few minutes maximum. One even had a recording time of only 30 seconds! Definitely not what I was looking for.

Even though I didn't buy the camcorder, I jotted down the name and model of it so I could research it online. It was called the Jazz DV151, and honestly I expected to find either nothing at all about it, or else very poor reviews. Boy, was I wrong! Not only did I find many sellers offering it (mostly at much higher prices than Wal-Mart did) but there were also a multitude of reviews, and the vast majority was surprisingly positive!

I also found several YouTube test videos that were recorded using this same camera, and most of the people who posted those videos had only good things to say about the Jazz camcorder. Several highly recommended it as a great item for the money. The YouTube videos weren't top quality, but they weren't bad, either. They were noticeably better than the ones that were recorded on cell phones, at least.

Armed with that knowledge I hurried back to Wal-Mart and got one for myself. This was the first camcorder I'd ever had, so I was anxious to start playing around with it. The Jazz DV151 closely resembles the various popular Flip camcorders, which it's obviously made to compete against.

I opened up the packaging to see what all was included. It came with a carry strap, a carry pouch, a USB cable, and an AV cable. It did not include batteries (2 AA) or memory (SD card), but at least it informs you of that on the outer package.

What I didn't expect, and what was glaringly absent, was any sort of owner's manual or even instructions of any kind. Even if you buy a can opener, you'll find some sort of manual on how to use it. But not this. It could have been an oversight from the manufacturer; they could have simply forgotten to include one, but the way the camcorder and all of its components were packed, it didn't look like there was room for any instructions.

So I was on my own in trying to figure out how to use the first camcorder I'd ever had. Not very happy about that, but through trial and error I got the hang of it and played around with it, filming different things in my home.

GARMIN USA INC GPS, NUVI 255W, CITY NAVIGATOR N

When most people think of a GPS device, the first name that pops into mind is Garmin Nuvi. Garmin's Nuvi 200 line of navigators was an excellent blend of ease of use and value. The new Nuvi 2x5 line of GPS navigation devices seeks to build on that reputation with a few new features, while still keeping the price relatively low. The Garmin Nuvi 205W is one of two entry-level models in the 2x5 line, and features only the most basic navigation features.

The standout feature in this new model is the "Where am I?" option that can come in handy during an emergency; but mostly the 205W represents a significant performance boost over the older Nuvis. Buyers who like what they see in the Nuvi 205W can choose to step down to the 205, which features a smaller screen, to save a few bucks, or up to the 255W, which adds text-to-speech to the feature set.

Design

The Nuvi 205W's chassis will be immediately familiar to anyone who has ever used a Garmin PND. The unit measures 4.8 inches wide by 2.9 inches tall by 0.8 inch deep and features a color touch screen that takes up almost the entirety of the front panel. The screen measures 4.3 inches diagonally and displays full-color imagery at a WQVGA resolution of 480x272 pixels.

Along the top edge of the unit is the power/lock slider. Pushing this slider toward the power icon powers the unit on and off. Moving the slider toward the lock icon will lock the touch screen. The left edge of the unit houses an SD card slot, while the back panel is home to the speaker and mini-USB charging/connecting port.
The unit ships with a 12-volt power cable, a suction cup windshield mount and cradle, an adhesive disk for dashboard mounting, and a quick start manual. The cradle features a good amount of articulation from its ball-jointed neck and better adhesion than the TomTom EasyPort mount. However, the Garmin's mount is much bulkier than the TomTom's, and less portable.

After powering on the Garmin, the user is taken first to the Nuvi's main menu screen. Two large options are displayed for "Where to?" and "View map." Along the bottom edge are smaller icons for volume, tools, and--if a destination has been chosen--stop or detour route.

Choosing "Where to?" takes users to the destination entry screen where they are given the choice between entering an address, searching points of entry, or browsing stored favorites.

The Nuvi's interface is a bit more primary than the competition from TomTom, but at the same time, is slightly easier to navigate and understand.

Features

The Nuvi 205W and its smaller sibling, the 205, are Garmin's entry-level models in the Nuvi 2x5 line, and predictably the units are not feature-packed powerhouses. However, the Nuvi 205W has a few tricks.

he unit comes preloaded with City Navigator NT map data for the contiguous United States, Canada, or one European region, depending on where the unit was purchased. (Our tester was loaded with maps for the lower 48 states, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.) For major roads and highways, the Garmin displays a speed limit icon as a warning for drivers approaching or exceeding the limit.

"Where Am I?" is a feature tucked in the Tools menu that displays your current GPS coordinates/elevation, the nearest address, and the nearest intersection, all of which can come in handy when relaying your location to emergency services or roadside assistance. The feature also provides quick links to the closest hospitals, and police and gas stations.

The unit comes preloaded with seven vehicle icons, with dozens more available for download on Garmin's Web site.

While the 205W doesn't support traffic updates out of the box, it can be upgraded to support lifetime FM traffic updates or subscription-based enhanced MSN direct service with add-on antennas and/or cradles.
In addition to navigation-based features, the Nuvi 205W also features a picture viewer (which displays photos stored on the internal memory or an inserted SD card), a world clock, a calculator, and a unit converter.

Performance

Cold boot time for the Nuvi 205W was noticeably faster than for the Nuvi 200 that it replaces, with a much faster satellite-lock time, which means less waiting between flipping the power switch and hitting the road.
Powered up and locked on, we searched for a few well-known points of interest. Nearby POIs are loaded quickly. The Nuvi doesn't support any sort of predictive text entry or autocomplete, but inputting a POI name or address is painless thanks to the Nuvi's responsive onscreen keyboard and fast search. The screen seems to buffer inputs, so you can quickly type a name without waiting for the Nuvi to register your inputs.
Our destination chosen, we hit the road and found the Garmin's routing of our test trips to be quick and, in most cases, identical to those chosen by the TomTom XL 340. Because the Garmin doesn't have to process IQ Routes or MapShare data, routing on the move and rerouting after missing turns is noticeably faster on the Nuvi 205W. (On the other hand, the Garmin doesn't benefit from learning better routes or free map micro-updates.)

In sum

Most users in the market for the Garmin Nuvi 205W should probably cross-shop the TomTom XL 340, which stacks up almost feature-for-feature with the Garmin. The TomTom unit's IQ Routes and MapShare features potentially give it a slight edge over the Garmin in the long run. However, the Garmin is a much faster, simpler, and easier-to-use device right out of the box, making it a better choice for nontechnophiles.
We gave the Nuvi 205W high design marks for its intuitive interface and big, bright screen. Its feature set is limited, but adequate for an entry-level device, resulting in an OK feature score. Finally, the Garmin's speedy booting, routing, and data entry earned it a good performance score.

JVC Everio MS130 Dual Flash Camcorder, Black

Keeping standard-def minicamcorders competitive against cheaper pocket video cams capable of 720p HD video has basically come down to two features: storage and optical zoom. The JVC Everio GZ-MS130 packs the same 35x optical zoom as 2008's MS100 and has 16GB of internal storage as well as an SD/SDHC slot for adding up to 32GB of removable storage. (For about $50 less, the MS120 gets you dual SD/SDHC card slots, but no internal memory.) Oh, and its video isn't half bad either, considering it's price.

Those thinking about getting a Flip-style minicamcorder but who can live with a larger size should consider the MS130. Despite it not technically being in the same category and that it won't fit in a pants pocket (not comfortably, at least), you get much more camcorder for your money with this JVC, and its video is YouTube-friendly, though its one-touch upload feature is a little misleading.

Even though the MS130 is compact, it's very comfortable to use and looks and feels nice, despite being entirely plastic. It's also available in two colors: black and blue. The battery takes up most of the back; there's just enough room for the record start/stop button to the right of it. On top are the zoom rocker and a snapshot button. You can take stills while shooting video, but there's also a tiny switch on the left side of the body that gives you access to more snapshot features. (Photos are 640x480 and are of characteristic quality for standard-def camcorders--good enough for the Web or very small prints.)

To the left of that switch sits a button to flip between play and record, and a power button--though the camcorder can be set to turn on and off when you open and close the LCD. Then there is a row of one-touch buttons--Upload, Direct DVD, and Export--that work in concert with the bundled software. This means to do the YouTube direct uploads you need to install this software, so you can't just do it from any computer. What is nice is that if you know the clip is destined for YouTube, you can press the Upload button before you start shooting and the MS130 will automatically limit the movie to 10 minutes, meeting the site's length requirements. Also on the top left side of the body is the SD/SDHC slot.

The only weak part of the design is the strap. It's an interesting design, functioning as both a wrist strap and grip belt, but it's thin and low on the body, so you're always fighting to keep the camcorder upright.

Wii Charging Station Quad

The remote for the Wii is an innovative controller that puts a lot of technology into a small wireless device. Unfortunately, that wireless device eats up batteries like nobody's business. You can pick up a set of rechargeable nickel-metal-hydride batteries and a charger, but it still requires regular battery swaps. Fortunately, Nyko offers another choice in the Charge Station, a accessory kit that offers the promise of never changing the batteries on your Wii remote (or Wiimote) ever again.

The Charge Station Wii consists of 4 battery packs, two rubberized battery covers, and a charging dock on which to rest up to 4 Wiimotes. (A similar Charge Station for the Xbox 360 juices up two batteries for that console's controllers.) Each battery pack snaps snugly into a Wiimote battery compartment, which is then covered by one of the included battery covers. The battery covers have a square hole through which the battery packs' electrical contacts can be accessed. When a Wiimote rests on the charging station itself, the battery packs charge through those exposed contacts.

The entire setup works just like a docking charger should. Keep the Wiimote on the base to charge the battery packs and pick it up whenever you want to play. The battery packs last several hours at a time, and the charging station gives you a convenient place to put your Wiimotes when they're not in use. As an added bonus, the rubberized grips on the battery covers help prevent screen-destroying Wii disasters.
Unfortunately, the design isn't perfect. Wiimote wrist straps, a necessity for safe Wii playing, have to hang limply off the sides of the charging station. If you drop your Wiimote into the charging station heedlessly, the wrist strap tends to get bunched up under the Wiimote and prevent the battery packs from making contact with the charger. Besides that, the charging station makes it almost impossible to use silicone Wiimote sleeves, which many players use to further improve their grip. The remote sleeves lack the hole necessary for the battery pack to reach the charger, and the silicone is simply too thick to let the remote rest in the dock. Thankfully, the Charge Station's rubberized battery covers make silicone sleeves far less necessary than the annoyingly slippery battery covers that come with Wiimotes.

The design also fails to take into account marathon game sessions. The battery packs must be inside the Wiimote to charge, meaning once you go through your battery packs, you'll be forced to either break out the AA batteries once again or put your Wiimote back on the charger for a while. Nyko claims that the battery packs can last up to 25 hours. They didn't die when we were playing, though we didn't play for 25 hours at a time. Of course, even if they can last 25 hours, I know some of you want to play 26 straight hours of Wii, and won't be happy when you have to pop in the old AA batteries. And while we're nitpicking, the Charge Station Wii isn't going to win any beauty contests--it won't be as welcome in the living room as the small and stylish Wii console itself.

Those issues not with standing, the Nyko Charge Station is still a must-have peripheral for the Wii. It powers 4 Wiimotes, gives them a nice rubber grip, and even offers a place to keep them so you don't lose them. Not bad for kit.

Charge Station Quad -- Charging Dock and 4 rechargeable batteries for Wii...Keep all of your Wii Remotes charged and ready to go with Nyko's Charge Station Quad for Wii. The Charge Station Quad includes 4 NiMH batteries, exclusively designed for the Wii Remote, and each providing up to 25 hours of play time each. Each battery is easily recharged by placing the Wii Remote in the charging dock. The charging dock conveniently plugs into any standard wall outlet, allowing for rapid recharging of all four batteries simultaneously. The Charge Station includes 4 differently colored custom battery covers with contact pass-through points so you can charge the batteries while they are still in the remote. Each battery cover is also rubberized for superior grip during intense gaming sessions. The Charge Station Quad matches the d cor and styling of the Wii, and is perfect for parties, tournaments and family game play sessions.

7 Inch LCD Screen Mini Tablet PC - White

The 7-inch slate actually has plenty to recommend it.  The street price is A small part of that, of course, but apparently despite the 600MHz ARM9 processor and resistive display, it’s actually “very responsive” and in fact the best implementation of Android on this sort of device that they’ve seen.
Unfortunately, while they were claiming the MID would last for 16hrs, We have found it to be less .  Unfortunately there’s no specific figures mentioned.  You’re also using Android 1.6 than one of the more recent builds, and – because there’s a proprietary docking connector rather than a microUSB port – the only way to get data onto the tablet is either via SD card or through the WiFi connection.

The deciding factor to a gadget like this is always going to be Price; if an importer can bring it in for a similar cost to what it is going for in China then they’ll likely find some buyers.  Any more and it’s probably not worth it for the processing power and capabilities on otter.

If the I-pad cost to much then for the price this is the next best thing. I cheep and fun to play with. Its no I-pad but for the price its worth getting.
